Partially Paid - Insurance Claim
Challenge
This client filed a claim with their insurance company due to a recent hail storm. The insurance company sent out their adjuster and the homeowner did not have any representation during this process. As a result, the adjuster partially compensated the customer to replace the roof.
Solution
Eric Goldberg (HAAG Certified Residential Roof Inspector) was referred to this client by one of his previous clients. Eric performed a complete forensic inspection of the property and he found additional damages which were overlooked by the insurance adjuster during their inital visit. Eric noticed the entire gutter system was damaged from the hail, the chimney shroud/chase cover was damaged as well, the two air conditioner units sustained damage to the fins and needed to be combed/straighten out and their mailbox was damaged from the storm.
Eric helped this customer by identifying ALL damages sustained after the storm and then he created an Xactimate (Insurance Pricing Program) estimate which was a thirty-one page report. This report was submitted back to the insurance company and Eric made sure the customer's claim was properly compensated for ALL damages to their property. In addition, we made sure this customer was brought up to current IRC & IBC buiding code standards. As a result of our team's hard work, we helped this client go from a partially paid claim to receiving all monies they should've originally received from their insurance company.
In addtion, the customer had some general maintenance issues to the Hardie Plank siding around their chimney and rotting corner post. Our painters removed and replaced all bad siding on the chimney and this will ensure they have no future maintance isses. Finally, once we complete the work on this project, we pressure washed their driveway and walk way to give the house a "BRAND NEW" look from the street.
