Interior Remodeling Photo Album: Custom Designed Steam Shower Install in Alpharetta1430 Hamption, GA
When Steve, a homeowner in Alpharetta, GA, decided it was time to upgrade his dated bathroom, he called Housworth Construction with a vision: to transform his old tub into a state-of-the-art steam shower. With Rich's guidance, the team designed a luxurious, spa-like retreat built to maximize comfort and efficiency. To retain heat and deliver a consistent steam experience, materials like tile, marble, and granite were used throughout the enclosure. Granite, a top choice for its durability and elegant look, was selected for the custom shower bench, complete with a slight overhang to aid in moisture control.
One of the most important elements of the installation was ensuring that the shower was fully enclosed and properly sealed. This included watertight doors and double-paned windows to prevent steam from escaping. A well-pitched ceiling, sloped at about 2 inches per foot, was also incorporated to keep condensation from dripping directly onto the bather—a common discomfort in poorly designed steam showers. Attention to detail, including tile size, spacing, and texture, helped maintain the ceiling’s functional slope. In the end, Steve’s new steam shower didn’t just offer a daily escape—it also added significant value to his home, with steam showers known to boost resale potential by as much as 30.7%.
Steam Shower Installation
What an amazing display of craftsmanship, turning one of the homeowners bathrooms into a luxurious Steam Shower.
Steam Shower Bench
We made the bench 18" high & 15" deep. This is the normal dimensions of most steam bath benches.
New hardware, flooring, & granite flooring
We installed a new shower system, while adding the wall niche for extra storage more convenance. The new granite walls (12x24" tiles), make this large steam shower look even bigger!
